Ingredients:
- Eggs – 3 to 6
- Sugar – 4 to 6 tbsp. (1/2 cup)
- Cocoa Powder – 3 tbsp. (or more depending on your taste)
- Flour – 1 cup (you can use flour other than all-purpose, but then it may affect the flavor of the cake)
- Baking Soda – 1/2 tsp (optional)
- Baking Powder – 1/2 tsp or more, depending on your taste. I used around 2 ts. Though.
- Vegetable Oil – 2 tbsp.
- Vanilla Essence – 1 tsp (for a simpler taste, you don’t need to put in additional vanilla essence)
- Salt – 1/2 tsp or less (or according to your taste)
Directions:

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
Step 2: Beat eggs in a mixing bowl. Add sugar, co co powder, and flour. Mix well.
Step 3: Add baking powder, baking soda, and salt and mix well. Please read the note below about using 1 tsp of baking soda when you don’t have a microwave handy! If you have an egg left, please peep the method at the end of the post to make an eggless chocolate cake instead.
Step 4: Pour the mixture into a baking tin and bake for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. You may have to wait longer for it to cool down before removing it from the oven. Please check the next post if you want to cook with an egg.
Step 5: Let it cool down while preparing your chocolate of choice (at least 12 hours). It’s best when the cake is almost completely cooled so that you won’t ruin the effect of chocolate on the cake.
Step 6: Pour the chocolate on top. You can also pour it between the cake and the bottom of the tin if you prefer that taste. Then put it back in the fridge to cool down/set completely.
Step 7: Enjoy
